Generalist Intern, 2027

A FOUNDATIONAL COMPANY

Rilla is on a mission to index the offline world.

Today, we’ve built the leading sales coaching software for organizations doing sales offline. We have over 1000 customers, including The Home Depot, KKR, Neighborly, and PulteGroup, using our product to enable AI sales coaching across their organization.

We are backed by Google Ventures, Bessemer Ventures, Crew Capital, and Broom Ventures, along with others.

We’re an in office team in NYC with builders who operate like high speed reinforcement learners. We obsess over our customers, move at a high velocity, are not afraid of failure, and look to maximize our real-world impact.

If you want to build the products and systems for how billions of conversations in the real world are captured and indexed, Rilla is the place to do it.

The Role

We're hiring an intern to embed directly into Rilla's team and own real projects across the business. You'll work across sales, operations, finance, recruiting, and whatever else the company needs — moving fast, figuring things out, and delivering. You'll work directly with founders and leadership on problems that matter, and leave the summer with real output you can point to.

What You'll Do

- Take on high-priority projects across sales, operations, finance, recruiting, and anything else the business needs

- Work directly with founders and leadership on live problems

- Build things, fix things, and leave the company better than you found it

- Move fast and operate with a high degree of ownership from day one

What You'll Get

Direct exposure to how a fast-growing startup operates. You'll work alongside some of the most ambitious people in NYC and leave with real skills and real output — not a certificate of participation.

Who You Are

- 🧠 An infinite learner. Someone who is always curious. You quickly learn new technologies and execute independently. You are a generalist who will deep dive into a challenge.

- 🔍 A customer obsessive. Someone who deeply cares about delighting customers and solving their pains, not about vanity metrics.

- 🏅 A quality obsessive. Someone who deeply cares about our users and the quality of their work. Our customers are not tech companies. They’re people who live and work in the real world. To solve problems for them you need to have extreme empathy. You have to understand how they work, what they need, and want, and how to make their lives better.

- 🤝 A team player. You love giving and receiving feedback, and learning and growing as a team.

- 📈 Unafraid of failure. You take risks. You see failure as an opportunity to learn, grow, and be better the next time. In a weird way, you trick your brain into being excited when you fail, because it means you got a new opportunity to learn more.

What We Need

- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program

- Ability to work full-time in person in NYC for the summer

- No specific major required — we care about how you think, not what you studied

- Evidence that you've done hard things and figured stuff out on your own

Don’t Work Here

Please don't join if you're not excited about:

1. Building an AI product for an industry untouched by modern software

2. Constantly talking to and visiting customers in the field

3. Working ~70 hrs/week in person with some of the most ambitious people in NYC

4. Attempting to build a generational company, and the intensity required to do so
