- What You Will Do As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will support the Hardware Engineering Team in providing engineering design & development services to a wide range of products within Raytheon.
- You would apply your skills to contribute to the requirement flow down, verification, environment stress screening and/or design-to-unit production cost (DTUPC) management for hardware in programs for Naval Power and Land and Air Defense Systems strategic business units.
- Working as an advocate for Hardware Engineering, you will coordinate between Systems Engineering and the Hardware Team to allocate the requirements, compile verification artifacts working with electrical (e.g. power/digital/RF/…) and mechanical (e.g. structural/thermal/material…) subject matter experts and develop compliance packages for design reviews and product requirements “sell off” with the customer.

Key Responsibilities Flow down, allocation and derivation of electrical and mechanical hardware requirements that reflect the system level requirements. Verification planning and artifact generation for electrical and mechanical hardware requirements Determine gaps for existing/non-developed hardware against requirements Apply Design to Cost best practices on development programs Training and application of RTX tools including PTC Windchill PDM and IBM DOORS Collaboration with coworkers and multi-discipline teams.
