Tax Intern - Summer 2027

Position Summary The Finance team at Assured Guaranty is seeking a summer intern to join for a 10 week assignment. This position will assist with tax return preparation as well as financial statement disclosures.

Primary Responsibilities The Intern will assist with the following tasks: • Assist with the preparation of GAAP and insurance statutory (SSAP #10) income tax provisions and supporting documentation • Assist with the preparation of federal and state income tax returns and related work papers including M-1/M-3 tax adjustment schedules for insurance and non-insurance companies • Assist in preparing state premium and municipal tax returns • Assist in the preparation of quarterly federal and state estimated tax payment calculations along with extensions and related filings Required Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel • A highly motivated self-starter and successful in a team-oriented setting • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).

• Minimum 3.0 GPA. • While any discipline will be considered, candidates studying finance or, accounting will be prioritized The salary for the position is expected to be from $30 per hour to $32 per hour.

The actual salary will depend on various factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience and credentials, salary expectations of applicable candidates, and other applicable market conditions.

This position provides a weekly all-firm catered breakfast and lunch (Tuesday and Wednesday) as well as intern-specific meals and events. Note: Housing stipend may be available for interns who will be residing outside of the tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut) for the duration of the summer internship program (June 8 – July 30).
