As America’s Crop Insurance Company™, we’re headquartered in the U.S. and have been owned by the farmers we insure for over 125 years. Farmers Mutual Hail (located in West Des Moines, IA) is currently looking for a qualified undergraduate to join our 2027 Summer Internship Program.
This is a paid internship starting Monday, May 17 through Friday, August 6, working up to 40 hours per week for the summer, with the potential to turn into a full-time, permanent position in the future.
We are looking for currently-enrolled college students who are close to the West Des Moines area, as this is not a remote internship. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Must be enrolled as a junior or senior at an undergraduate college or university, majoring in Risk Management, Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.

Analytical, problem solving, and attention to detail skills are highly desired. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Rate Study – analyzes and evaluates a company. Presents the analysis to the company.
• Learns and assists in the Underwriting process for direct and broker accounts. • Work with financials and annual statements. • Communicates with clients.
• Assists with any ongoing team projects. • Works on other projects as delegated by manager/mentor. • Participates in internal meetings to share and develop strategy and knowledge.
• Attends a broker visit. WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Office environment with individual workspace provided. • Casual dress. • On-site fitness center and cafeteria.
