About the internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

A. Media database (primary responsibility):

  1. Maintain and regularly update SLF's media database covering national, regional, and local media
  2. Identify journalists, editors, producers, and relevant media contacts covering road safety, transport, public policy, governance, social impact, and related issues
  3. Verify contact details, designations, publications, and areas of interest
  4. Categorize media contacts by publication, geography, beat, and media type
  5. Track changes in journalists' roles, publications, and contact details
  6. Identify new journalists and media platforms that could be relevant to SLF
  7. Maintain a clean, organized, and usable database for media outreach
  8. Support the communications team in building targeted media lists for press releases, events, campaigns, and interviews

B. Social media support:

  1. Support the communications team in identifying relevant social media trends and conversations around road safety and related issues
  2. Track engagement and performance of SLF's social media posts
  3. Identify relevant journalists, influencers, creators, and organizations on social media for potential engagement
  4. Suggest content ideas based on current conversations and trends
  5. Support basic social media monitoring and reporting

C. Communications support:

  1. Assist with media monitoring and maintain a daily/weekly record of relevant coverage
  2. Assist with maintaining an organized repository of media coverage, photographs, and communication assets
  3. Undertake basic research on media trends, journalists, and relevant public conversations
