Economics Research Internship

We are looking for a detail-oriented economics research intern (BA/MA economics) to help build high-quality, data-driven economic stories. In this role, you will dig into primary Indian government reports, extract raw datasets, and perform rigorous data validation to ensure our charts and insights are accurate, credible, and publishing-ready.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include: 1. Data sourcing: Collect, structure, and organize datasets from primary government sources (MOSPI, RBI, Union Budget, NITI Aayog, Ministry reports, PIB, etc.

). 2. Data validation & audit: Cross-verify internal datasets against official sources to ensure 100% precision in numbers, dates, and metrics. 3. Literature & policy research: Extract key highlights, trends, and qualitative context from policy documents, annual reports, and economic surveys.

4. Dataset management: Maintain organized spreadsheets with clear metadata, source links, unit references, and revision histories. Currently pursuing or completed BA or MA in economics (or related quantitatively oriented fields like statistics/public policy). • 2. Strong understanding of Indian macroeconomics, key economic indicators (GDP, CPI, IIP, trade balances, credit flow), and government data ecosystems.

• 3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data cleaning). • 4. High attention to detail and a methodical approach to data verification.
