  • Support patients and families through regular follow-ups, empathetic conversations, and basic coping strategies.
  • Maintain ethical and organized progress notes while ensuring confidentiality of all patient interactions.
  • Create meaningful mental health resources, articles, and awareness content related to psycho-oncology.

About the internship

We are looking for a compassionate and responsible clinical psychology intern to support emotional well-being initiatives for cancer patients and their caregivers. This is a meaningful opportunity to gain real-world exposure in psycho-oncology, patient interaction, rapport building, empathetic communication, and caregiver support while working with individuals navigating challenging healthcare experiences.

Through supervised learning and practical exposure, interns will develop important clinical skills beyond academics, including patient communication, documentation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and understanding emotional concerns in cancer care.

Selected interns' day-to-day responsibilities include:

  1. Conduct initial interactions with cancer patients and caregivers to understand their emotional, psychological, and support-related needs through supportive communication.
  2. Assist in basic psychological screening and distress identification under supervision to understand concerns such as anxiety, grief, emotional distress, and coping difficulties.
  3. Support patients and families through regular follow-ups, empathetic conversations, and basic coping strategies.
  4. Maintain ethical and organized progress notes while ensuring confidentiality of all patient interactions.
  5. Create meaningful mental health resources, articles, and awareness content related to psycho-oncology.
  6. Participate in case discussions, supervision meetings, and collaborate with team members to strengthen patient support practices.
