Engineering Internship - 2027

America is critically deficient in production of defensive munitions- we currently produce shipborne interceptors in the few hundreds per year while our adversaries are producing offensive threats in the tens of thousands per year. Furientis was started to help solve this problem- introducing a new class of cost-effective, high production rate, interceptor missiles. We're seeking motivated individuals who internalize this problem and are eager to apply their past experience in similar industries (aerospace, defense, automotive/racing, robotics) and out of the box thinking to solve this problem for the US and its allies.

About the Role We are looking for engineering interns who want to work on real hardware and solve problems across disciplines. At Furientis, you could contribute to mechanical or electrical design, manufacturing, guidance, navigation, and control (GN&C), propulsion, or seeker systems. We’ll match your strengths and interests to a project where you can make a concrete contribution. This is a hands-on role for someone curious, practical, and comfortable learning by building, testing, analyzing, and iterating. You’ll work with engineers across the team, take ownership of a defined project, and share what you learn along the way.

What You'll Do • Support the design, analysis, build, integration, or test of engineering systems and components. • Contribute to work in one or more areas: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, GN&C, propulsion, or seeker systems. • Help develop prototypes, test setups, tooling, or manufacturing processes. • Collect and analyze simulation or test data; document results and recommend next steps. • Troubleshoot technical problems with teammates across disciplines. • Present your project, progress, and findings to the team.

Skills We're Hiring For • Currently pursuing a B.S. or graduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or a related engineering field. • Interest or experience in at least one of these areas: mechanical design, electronics, manufacturing, GN&C, propulsion, sensing, or seeker systems. • A hands-on project, lab, shop, research, or competition-team experience—or a strong desire to gain it. • Clear communication, sound judgment, and attention to detail. • Curiosity, initiative, and the ability to work through unfamiliar technical problems. • Familiarity with tools relevant to your field, such as CAD, programming, circuit design, simulation, machining, fabrication, or test equipment.

Bonus Points For • Personal, academic, or competition projects involving hardware, controls, sensors, propulsion, robotics, or manufacturing. • Experience building, testing, or troubleshooting physical systems. • Coursework or project work that crosses multiple engineering disciplines. • A portfolio, project write-up, code sample, or other example of how you approach engineering problems. • Experience using AI coding tools to explore ideas, automate analysis, or speed up technical work.
