Commercial Intern

About the role We are looking for a Commercial Intern to support the commercialization of an exciting food ingredients project across EMEA and North America.

Based at our office in Alkmaar, the Netherlands, you will work closely with our project and commercial teams. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project management, commercial strategy, market research, and business development within an international trading environment.

You will play an active role in researching market opportunities, analyzing commercial potential, and supporting the further development and commercialization of the project.

Your responsibilities • Support the day-to-day management and coordination of the project • Assist in developing and executing the commercial strategy • Support commercial forecasting, market analysis, and financial modelling • Conduct market and competitor research across EMEA and North America • Identify potential customers and commercial opportunities • Conduct commercial analyses and support business development activities • Prepare insights and recommendations for the project and commercial teams Who you are • Available 3, 4 or 5 days per week • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commercial Economics, Business Studies, International Business, Business Administration, Marketing, Sales or a related field • Strong analytical skills with a commercial and entrepreneurial mindset • Comfortable working with Microsoft 365, particularly Excel and PowerPoint • Structured, proactive and hands-on • Strong organisational and communication skills • Good verbal and written communication skills in English • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a wider team • An interest in commodities, food ingredients or international trade is a plus What we offer • Hands-on experience in the commercialisation of a real-life food ingredients project • Exposure to commercial strategy, forecasting, market research and business development • Close collaboration with an experienced commercial team • The opportunity to take ownership of meaningful project-related work • An internship allowance of €450 per month, based on a 40-hour working week • An educational and varied internship within an international food ingredients company • The opportunity to gain experience in an international trading environment and contribute to a project with commercial exposure across EMEA and North America Who we are Royal Ingredients Group, based in Alkmaar, part of the Cefetra Group, is a dynamic trading house with branches in the United States, India, China, Dubai, Mexico and Spain.
