What you'll do
- In this role, you will help the Map Crowdsourcing and Enhancements team solve complex mapping problems using machine learning, advanced algorithms, large-scale data processing, and cloud computing.
- You will contribute across the development lifecycle—from exploring vehicle data and developing models or algorithms to building scalable data workflows, deploying solutions, and evaluating their performance.
- Build, deploy, and optimize models and algorithms using cloud-based compute environments such as Azure Databricks and Google Cloud Platform.
- Develop scripts to manage data workflows using Python or PySpark
- Analyze large datasets to discover trends and patterns
- Present complex information using data visualization techniques

- Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week.
- Python software skills and experience with ML libraries such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Experience working with cloud environments and data platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, Azure Databricks, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Demonstratable fundamentals in statistical modeling and machine learning frameworks and tools

- Experience with geospatial data and analytics

About the team
The Production Mapping organization plays a pivotal role in the software development of mapping solutions to support AV/ADAS at General Motors. This team is responsible for delivering integrated and tested software for various GM features, including Super Cruise.
About the role
In this role, you will help the Map Crowdsourcing and Enhancements team solve complex mapping problems using machine learning, advanced algorithms, large-scale data processing, and cloud computing. You will contribute across the development lifecycle—from exploring vehicle data and developing models or algorithms to building scalable data workflows, deploying solutions, and evaluating their performance. Areas of focus may include machine learning, geospatial analytics, distributed data processing, workflow automation, and cloud-based software development.
What you’ll do

- Complete training, learning, and skills development

Compensation
- The monthly salary range for this role is $X – $X per month
- GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend payment to eligible students selected for the 2027 Student Program.
