Role overview
What you'll own
- You will not be several services removed from the result.
- You will own a scoped project with a clear technical or business outcome, work directly with the people responsible for the system, and present what you built and learned at the end of the summer.
- · Develop C or C++ software for embedded avionics, vehicle systems, sensing, communications, or test equipment
- · Bring up peripherals and interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, or other serial and network protocols
Requirements and eligibility
- · Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, with graduation and enrollment requirements to be confirmed.
- · Strong programming fundamentals and experience in C or C++
- · Coursework or project experience with embedded systems, operating systems, computer architecture, or real-time software
- · A project where you wrote software that interacted with hardware and can explain how you debugged it
Preferred, not required
- · An RTOS such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, Zephyr, or QNX
- · Linux, device drivers, networking, robotics, controls, or avionics
- · Python-based test automation, CI, simulation, or model-based development
