Data Acquisition Software Engineering Co-op

Through our nationwide data network, platform, and intelligent workflows, we help providers, value-based care organizations, payers, life sciences, and digital health companies drive business results, strengthen provider trust, and improve operational efficiency.

Founded in 2021 by Jonathan Bush, co-founder and former CEO of athenahealth, Zus is building the foundation for a more connected, precise, and effective healthcare system.

What we’re looking for... We are looking for an eager software engineering co-op to help build the next generation of healthtech tools. This co-op will be part of the Data Acquisition team.

The engineer joining this team will help build software that transforms, validates, and enriches data retrieved from healthcare data networks. The ideal candidate will be excited to take on the challenge of unifying diverse health care data sources to bring a clear picture of patient needs to our customers in ways that the developers of said data sources never thought or cared about.

You will work on data pipelines that operate on large scale data using a variety of AWS services ( Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, etc). Go is our language of choice, although we also have some components written in Python.

The team is responsible for deploying, maintaining, and operating its pipelines and services. As part of our team, you will... • Roll up your sleeves and build production-ready technology • Collaborate with your colleagues to build high quality solutions that scale You are a good fit because you demonstrate...

• The ability to overcome challenging obstacles independently. • The self-awareness to recognize when outside assistance is needed. • The desire to learn about building software in a professional environment • The willingness to incorporate feedback into your work • A love of solving complex problems • A self-starter attitude that shows that you are ready for the fast, and sometimes unstructured, nature of an early startup.

• Located in the Boston, MA area and willing to join us in the office on a hybrid basis It would be awesome if you were… • Interested in working with healthcare data and APIs • Able to work on a co-op from January through end of May / early June.

We will offer you… • Competitive compensation that reflects the value you bring to the team a combination of cash and equity • Robust benefits that include health insurance, wellness benefits, 401k with a match, unlimited PTO • Opportunity to work alongside a passionate team that is determined to help change the world (and have fun doing it) Please Note: Research shows that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds often don’t apply unless they meet 100% of the job criteria.

While we have worked to consolidate the minimum qualifications for each role, we aren’t looking for someone who checks each box on a page; we’re looking for active learners and people who care about disrupting the current healthcare system with their unique experiences.

We do not conduct interviews by text nor will we send you a job offer unless you've interviewed with multiple people, including the Director of People & Talent, over video interviews.
