Description of Duties and Tasks

The Center for Government and Civic Service (CGCS) is seeking a highly motivated, professional, and independent student to serve as a Strategic Planner. You will be treated as a young professional and a junior executive on the CGCS team and expected to perform at such a level by being reliable and accountable. As a Strategic Planner, you will be given significant authority to conceptualize, design, and execute real-world initiatives that impact Austin Community College (ACC), as well as local, state, federal and even global affairs. Working under the mentorship of the Director and Associate Director, you will lead cross-functional teams, design initiatives, manage project timelines, engage directly with external partners in government, industry, and the nonprofit sector, and lead in the execution of initiatives. This role is designed to build your "World Readiness," equipping you with the resilience, agency, and executive skills required for leadership in the nonprofit, public service, or corporate sectors.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with standard office software

Physical Requirements

  • Work is routinely performed in an office environment.
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

Safety

  • Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior.
  • Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
