As part of the Compatibility & Coating Solutions team, you will support hands-on laboratory activities focused on coatings and materials characterization. This internship offers practical experience in coating application and testing, microstructural characterization, evaluation of mechanical and corrosion performance, analysis of experimental results, and technical reporting.

As an intern, you'll be responsible for:

  • Performing hands-on laboratory activities related to coatings and coating technologies.
  • Supporting coating application and laboratory testing activities.
  • Characterizing coating microstructure using microscopy and other appropriate laboratory techniques.
  • Evaluating coating performance, including mechanical properties and corrosion behavior.
  • Analyzing experimental results and preparing clear technical summaries and reports.
  • Supporting activities across coating technologies, which may include thermal spray, plating, and other coating processes.
  • Organizing test data and contributing to consistent, high-quality laboratory documentation.
  • Operating in compliance with laboratory Quality, Safety, and HSE procedures.

  • Be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with a materials focus, or a related field.
  • Have maintained a GPA grade greater than or equal to 3.0 out of 4.0 or the equivalent in your country.
  • Have an interest in coatings, materials characterization, and hands-on laboratory work.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Show curiosity, motivation, and a hands-on approach to laboratory work.
  • Be able to legally work in the country that you are applying in, without company sponsorship or time restriction.

Through this internship, you will have the opportunity to develop:

  • Practical experience in coating application, testing, and characterization within an industrial materials laboratory.
  • Hands-on experience in physical and mechanical characterization microscopy and chemical analysis techniques
  • Understanding of relationships between coating microstructure, mechanical properties, and corrosion performance.
  • Exposure to coating technologies, potentially including thermal spray, plating processes and aluminide diffusive coatings.
  • Experience analyzing experimental results and preparing technical reports.
  • Familiarity with industrial laboratory practices, quality standards, and HSE requirements.

The fixed allowance for this position will be between this range: 600 - 1000 € gross monthly. The allowance will be established in accordance with criteria related to the candidate’s academic status and their distance from the workplace.
