Job Description: Baker Tilly, one of the fastest growing CPA advisory firms in the nation, has an exciting opportunity for  Credits & Incentives Interns join our growing Specialty Tax practice.

As part of our Credits & Incentives team, you will work with clients across a variety of industries to identify and maximize federal and state tax incentives while delivering innovative, data-driven solutions that create value.

What you will do – Research & Development Tax: • Support the preparation of R&D tax credit studies by organizing and analyzing client data, assisting with documentation, participating in client interviews, and contributing to technical reports and project deliverables • Gain exposure to client engagements, which may include traveling to client locations and learning how project teams gather and evaluate information related to qualifying R&D activities • Assist with technical research and the preparation of memoranda related to R&D tax credit matters • Work alongside R&D team members to develop and improve client and industry-specific tools, templates, and supporting documentation • Learn about a variety of industries and develop a foundational understanding of how R&D tax credit rules apply to different businesses What you will do – Cost Segregation: • Support cost segregation projects by assisting with project planning, reviewing construction and fixed asset information, and preparing supporting workpapers and documentation • Assist with the preparation of cost segregation studies, conduct technical research, and provide tax credit and incentive consulting assistance • Support research and the preparation of technical memoranda related to fixed asset matters, including Section 179D • Gain exposure to construction, engineering, fixed assets, and valuation concepts and learn how these areas are applied in tax consulting engagements • Build industry knowledge through hands-on project experience and interaction with team members and clients What you will do – Tax Credit Advisory • Support project teams in helping clients identify and evaluate potential federal, state, and local tax credits and incentives • Assist with gathering, organizing, and analyzing client information used to evaluate eligibility and support tax credit and incentive claims • Conduct research related to tax credit requirements, incentives, and applicable regulations under the guidance of experienced team members • Help prepare supporting documents, workpapers, and other client deliverables • Gain exposure to businesses across a variety of industries and learn how tax credits and incentives can support broader tax planning and business objectives • Participate in client and internal team meetings to develop an understanding of the tax credit advisory process and the role of a tax consultant Qualifications Successful candidates will have: • Be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business, or a related field.

• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age. • Must have at least one academic term remaining following completion of the internship. • Passion for developing creative, data-driven solutions to complex analytical and tax challenges.

• Willingness to travel to client locations and various Baker Tilly office locations. • Relevant internship, work experience and/or involvement with a professional organization • The ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of client personnel • Demonstrated skills in the areas of time management, communication, interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration, and problem solving • Organizational and analytical skills, initiative, adaptability • Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location.

Baker Tilly offers a  comprehensive compensation and benefits package  to eligible employees. In California: pay rate range is $ 27.50   to $ 109.2 0 The national pay rate range is $ 25.
