This departmental Specialty intern will support the Service and Advisor teams by assisting with administrative, analytical, and client-service activities related to insurance renewals and ongoing client service. This internship provides hands-on exposure to commercial insurance, carrier relationships, risk management, and the insurance brokerage industry while developing professional business skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Service and Advisor teams team with renewal preparation and marketing activities.
  • Help organize client information and supporting documentation for insurance submissions.
  • Support the preparation of loss summaries, spreadsheets, and renewal materials.
  • Assist with creating client presentation materials, pricing comparisons, and program summaries.
  • Maintain electronic files and organize policy-related documents within shared drives.
  • Assist with processing policy documents, binders, endorsements, certificates, and other insurance-related records.
  • Support the team with data entry, reporting, and document management projects.
  • Attend team meetings, training sessions, and client strategy discussions as appropriate.
  • Assist with special projects, prospect presentations, and RFP responses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the brokerage team
  • Work toward obtaining a Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance License by completing required pre-licensing education and exam preparation, with support and mentorship from the brokerage team.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Risk Management & Insurance, Economics, Communications, or a related field
  • Rising junior, senior, or graduate student preferred
  • Strong interest in insurance, risk management, financial services, or consulting
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced professional environment.
