Job Description Purpose of the role Bringing quantitative and analytical expertise to bear across the full spectrum of our Markets and Risk businesses.
Our Early Careers colleagues are expected to play an important role in the design and development of risk management and trading strategies, through the use of quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling, and technology, with the aim of optimising trading processes, development practices, systems and infrastructure as well as identifying growth and investment opportunities.
Accountabilities • Develop and implement quantitative models and strategies to enhance decision-making, pricing, and risk management. • Design and maintain high-performance trading platforms and risk systems, integrating new features to improve reliability and user experience.
• Conduct research and data analysis to uncover market trends and drive innovation through advanced methodologies and technologies. • Collaborate with traders, sales teams, and stakeholders in Risk and Finance to deliver customized solutions and translate business needs into scalable tech tools.
• Work cross-functionally with compliance, IT, and strategy teams to resolve system issues and continuously improve trading infrastructure. Markets Quants Consisting of specialised modellers and developers, the team directly supports the Capital Markets division of the bank. Team members are responsible for researching, innovating, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting all quantitative models used for front-office pricing, valuation adjustments, along with market and counter-party credit risk management across all asset classes.
Joining a group that partners with trading, structuring, and risk management functions across the bank, you’ll gain broad exposure to a variety of classic and contemporary financial engineering modelling techniques and markets instruments to help drive business strategy.

Quantitative Analytics at Barclays Our Quantitative Analytics team is a global organisation of highly specialised modellers and developers responsible for researching, innovating, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting all quantitative models used for valuation and risk management across all asset classes.
Who we’re looking for To be considered for this programme, you must have completed (or be in the final year of) a postgraduate qualification, Masters or higher, in a technical discipline such as Physics, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Economics, Statistics, Calculus, Computer Science, or other STEM subjects.
Ideally, you would also have: • Mathematical and programming skills (ideally in C++, or Python) • Logical thinking and problem-solving abilities • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude • Fluent written and spoken English • Passion to learn about the banking sector, financial services industry, and capital markets Language requirements: fluent in English and French, desirable in German, Italian, Spanish.

Entry Salary: €30,000 Upper Salary: €30,000 The entry and upper salary information above includes only annual full-time equivalent base salary and represents the typical range of pay for the role.
