- Provide structural support to military or commercial engine components through all Product Development Phases.
- Perform state-of-the-art ANSYS finite element analysis for stress, vibration, mission low cycle fatigue life, residual life (fracture mechanics) prediction, and optimization; stress testing and data reduction; production and in-service field investigations.
- Participate on multi-discipline integrated product teams as the structures focal, providing design solutions that balance customer requirements for durability, performance, cost and weight.
- Coordinate with others new ways to advance technology and improve processes as an individual and as a team contributor.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

• Document and present results to management and external customers. • Support quality initiatives for continuous improvement using Customer Oriented Results and • Excellence operating system (CORE) tools and support AS9100 efforts.
• English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English. Qualifications You Must Have: • Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical, Civil, Structural or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0. • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
Qualifications We Prefer: • Strong mechanical aptitude to understand the interactions of complex assemblies and how to translate those interactions into sound analytical assumptions.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications. • Excellent communication and presentation skills. • Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
• Team oriented and cultural awareness. • Knowledge of software and programming languages: ANSYS, Workbench, APDL, MATLAB, VBA, Python, C++, MS Office, NX Teamcenter and SAP.

Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles Engineering is responsible for the design, development and in service support of power transmission systems, bearing compartment and rotor support design and analysis, oil and thermal management systems, engine externals packaging and architecture, as well as nacelles for commercial and military engine models.

This position is classified: Hybrid. Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on a regular basis with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.
