What You Will Do As a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern in the Mechanical Controls product line at Collins Aerospace, you will participate on a team to evaluate customer and subsystem hydraulic and/or pneumatic component requirements to generate compliant hardware designs for airframe and engine systems.

Designs are also analyzed structurally using FEA. Candidate will work within an integrated team that includes Project Engineering, Dynamic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Drafting, and Structures.
Qualifications You Must Have • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 45 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer • Experience with 2D and 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as UG NX, Catia, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Autodesk or equivalent • Experience in CFD tools such as StarCCM+ and/or in FEA tools such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, or equivalent • Experience with additive manufacturing • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and/or Outlook) • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience What We Offer • Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.

• Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply. RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
