The projects we task our interns to lead are impactful and meaningful to our organization. You’ll be supported by your Manager and Mentor to gain in-depth knowledge of the adhesive industry and collaborate with various departments and functions.

Location: Fridley, MN Department: Operations Our  Internship Experience  includes: • 12-week paid program beginning the end of May to mid-August to gain insight and knowledge in your field.

Position Overview: The Operations Engineering Intern supports manufacturing, maintenance, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Fridley facility.

This role provides hands-on experience in a production environment by leading projects that improve equipment reliability, operational efficiency, safety, product quality, and data-driven decision making.

The intern will collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, engineering, and EHS teams to identify opportunities, implement solutions, and deliver sustainable improvements that support plant performance and business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities: • Support Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.

• Assist with maintenance and reliability projects, including preventive maintenance optimization, asset management, and critical spare parts strategies.

• Analyze production, maintenance, and quality data to identify trends, solve problems, and drive sustainable operational improvements. • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, equipment drawings, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs.

• Lead cross-functional projects across operations, maintenance, quality, and safety, presenting recommendations and results to site leadership. Minimum Qualifications: • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.

• Rising junior or senior standing in one of the listed engineering disciplines. • Comfortable working in a production or manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with AutoCAD and Minitab software.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). • Demonstrated interest in process improvement, safety, or quality engineering. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $22-$25 per hour. In addition to your salary, H.B. Fuller offers employees a competitive total rewards package including comprehensive benefits, incentive and recognitions programs, health & wellness benefits, 401K contributions, paid time off and paid holidays.
