Do you enjoy being organised, paying attention to detail and helping things run smoothly behind the scenes?

Our Credit & Political Risk team helps businesses protect themselves against financial and political risks when operating around the world. Whether a company is trading internationally, investing in a new market or lending money overseas, the team helps them manage uncertainty and make business decisions with confidence.

Operations is the engine that keeps a business running smoothly. While brokers focus on clients and placing insurance solutions, Operations teams make sure everything behind the scenes is organised, accurate and delivered efficiently. From managing data and documentation to coordinating processes and supporting teams, Operations plays a vital role in helping the business provide an excellent service to its clients every day.

As an apprentice, you'll be supported every step of the way. From technical and professional training to working on real projects, you'll gain hands-on experience while learning from your buddy, line manager and wider team. As your skills and confidence grow, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution and add real value from early on.

What you’ll be doing?

  • Learn how insurance solutions support organisations operating internationally.
  • Use your attention to detail skills to make sure client records are accurate and kept up to date.
  • Support the administration of insurance policies and contracts, including updating records and processing documentation changes.
  • Support with a range of process improvement projects to identify new ways to improve team efficiency.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to ensure we are delivering exceptional service to our clients.

To be eligible for our apprenticeship, you must:

  • Have the full and unrestricted right to work in the UK.
  • Have lived permanently in the UK for the last 3 years.

  • Not already hold a qualification that significantly overlaps with the content of this apprenticeship.

Application process

  • Online application form – no CV required: We believe you're more than just a document, so we won’t ask you to submit a CV. Please upload a blank document on the application form.
  • Online gamified assessment: These games will help us understand your natural strengths and how you approach different situations. There are no right or wrong answers. You can complete this stage on your phone or laptop, whichever suits you best!
  • Pre-recorded video interview: You will record your answers to a few questions using your phone or laptop, giving you the chance to tell us more about yourself in your own time in a relaxed setting.
  • Assessment centre: Our final stage is an in-person assessment centre. You'll take part in some fun group activities and meet our team in a relaxed setting. This day is all about getting to know you better and for you to see what it's like to be part of Howden and experience our culture. We'll cover all your travel costs for this day!
