Our engineers are hands-on and focused on continuous improvement, helping to make industrial cutting more accurate, cost-effective, and safe for our customers.
Key Responsibilities: • Lead process improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma practices • Optimize manufacturing processes to enhance quality, reduce costs, improve safety, and increase earnings • Work with a variety of machinery and processes, including multi-axis CNC machines, assembly equipment, laser marking, and packaging equipment • Design tooling, fixtures, and workstations essential for new product introduction to production cells Required knowledge, skills, education, and experience: • Currently enrolled in an engineering-focused college degree program (industrial/mechanical engineering preferred) • Junior (you have completed a minimum of 2 years) and are in good standing • Enthusiastic about learning with the ability to work collaboratively in a team, as well as independently on selected projects • Strong problem-solving skills, with a passion for getting to the root cause of issues • Proactive and enthusiastic about implementing new technology and continuous improvement Preferred Experience that differentiates you: • Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment • Proficiency in lean manufacturing, statistical analysis (Minitab), geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), SolidWorks, value stream mapping (VSM), design for manufacturability (DFM), process failure mode effects analysis (pFMEA), and structured problem solving Location: Hanover, New Hampshire Hypertherm Associates is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we welcome all applications.
