Job Title: Summer 2027 Intern- R&D Beauty and Personal Care Summary: As a part of a Beauty & Personal Care Formulations team, the candidate will focus on demonstrating consumer benefits of Momentive’s sustainable technologies in personal care formulations.
The candidate will be instrumental in a laboratory set-up to develop personal care formulations, testing raw material and formulations for sensory characterization and performance attributes.
The candidate will have an opportunity to interact with other business functions including marketing and analytical teams. Responsibilities Include: • Develop Personal Care formulations in Skin Care, Color cosmetics, Suncare & Haircare to understand performance differences with different raw materials and compare against the benchmark raw materials.
• Claim studies of the formulations with different raw materials for Sensory panel evaluation, Soft-focus studies, long-wear evaluation, SPF analysis, microscopy, rheology etc.
• Summarize lab data and draw conclusions by data analysis. • Follow lab safety protocols and maintain lab notebook. Qualifications: The following are required for the role • Hands on experience working in the lab • Courses or prior internship experience in cosmetics formulations development & application testing in Skin, Hair & color cosmetics are preferred • Ability to draw conclusions from complex experiments Program Minimum Qualifications: • The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship.
• The candidate is expected to be available 40 hours a week for a period of 10-12 weeks between the months of May and August. Education Requirement: Undergraduate/graduate in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Chemistry, Physical Science, Cosmetic Science, Chemistry and related discipline.
What We Offer: Base Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00 The base salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography.
