We would love for you to be a part of BCBSNE’s journey as an intern where you will gain hands-on experiences solving real-world problems. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is a Partner of Choice for the Nebraska University System.

Our Interns   work   a hybrid schedule and spend some days working on-site at our Omaha office   located   in Aksarben Village .    Therefore, you will need to live within commuting distance from   Wednesday, May 26 – Friday, July 30, 2027.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is seeking motivated students with a passion for cybersecurity, infrastructure, and operational excellence. This internship offers hands-on experience in enterprise security, cloud infrastructure, and Agile best practices in a collaborative and rewarding environment.

What you'll do: • Security Operations & Monitoring:   Work alongside SOC analysts to   monitor   alerts, investigate threats, and support incident response using tools like Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, CrowdStrike, and Proofpoint • Tooling & Automation:   Gain exposure to   Cribl , CyberArk, and automation platforms used to streamline observability and access management • Training & Development:   Complete SOC Core Skills, Sentinel KQL training, and immersive labs.

Participate in Cyber Tatanka for real-world simulation experience • Collaboration & Mentorship:   Engage with teams across Security Engineering, Application Security, and Access Management.

• Capstone Project:   Tackle   a challenge   such as improving alert fidelity, automating infrastructure tasks, or enhancing observability dashboards.

Technology Focus Areas: • Access & Identity:   Azure AD, CyberArk, MFA, Role-Based Access Control • Automation & Observability:   Cribl , Sentinel KQL, Monitoring Dashboards, Performance Tuning • Cybersecurity Tools:   CrowdStrike, Defender XDR, Proofpoint, Tenable, KnowBe4 • Security Operations: SIEM, Threat Detection, Incident Response, Vulnerability Management What we are looking for: • High School diploma   required • Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field • Strong interest in enterprise security and infrastructure • Intellectual curiosity and a drive to learn • Experience or interest in one or more of the following:   Security operations and monitoring, Cloud infrastructure and automation, Identity and access management or Observability and performance engineering Learn more about what makes BCBSNE such an exceptional place to work by visiting NebraskaBlue.
