Unpaid Intern, News (Part Time)

KWKT-TV offers supervised, educational newsroom internships for qualified college students pursuing degrees in Broadcast Journalism, Video Production, Communications, or related fields.

This unpaid internship provides hands-on experience in newsroom operations, could include news production, broadcast and digital content writing, video shooting and editing, assignment desk support, scanner monitoring, news gathering, and story development.

Interns will work alongside experienced professionals and gain practical knowledge of broadcast and digital journalism. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to learn all aspects of newsroom operations.

• Schedule and hours are determined on a case-by-case basis. • Interns receive direct supervision and participate in a meaningful educational experience.

• Interns do not replace or displace regular employees • Students are expected to obtain and complete any forms necessary to receive credit for the internship experience.

• Currently enrolled in a college or university program related to journalism, communications, media production, or a similar field. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Willingness to learn and work collaboratively. • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to follow company policies, safety procedures, and supervisor instructions.

• Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of company, client, and proprietary information. • Abide by all safety rules and procedures of Company.

This is an unpaid internship . Interns are not eligible for wages, benefits, or other compensation. The internship is intended solely for educational purposes and does not guarantee future employment with the company.
