- Summer housing is available to interns whose permanent address is greater than 50 miles from their work location
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater

THE ROLE The Industrial Design Intern supports the team in conceptualizing new, modified, or improved products using 2D and 3D tools. The role includes creating deliverables such as sketches, renderings, 3D models, and presentations.
Through this position, you will develop an understanding of customer requirements and translate them into design solutions. This role collaborates closely with engineering throughout vehicle development to integrate styling and branding while ensuring strong customer value.
YOUR IMPACT As an Industrial Design Intern, your experience may include: • Generating fresh ideas through sketches, models, visualizations, research, and other forms of creative exploration • Developing visual and design deliverables such as renderings, 3D models, animations, prototypes, presentations, and digital experiences • Collaborating with engineers and cross-functional teams to translate ideas and user needs into meaningful design solutions • Exploring emerging design tools and technologies, including VR/mixed reality, AI-assisted design, real-time visualization, and rapid prototyping • Applying human-centered design principles to create solutions that balance usability, functionality, experience, styling, and brand identity • Using digital and physical prototyping to explore, evaluate, and communicate concepts and user experiences • Supporting the Oshkosh visual brand language across vehicles, products, interfaces, and experiences • Researching design trends, user needs, visualization techniques, emerging technologies, and competitor products to inform and inspire design • Adapting to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and detail • Growing as a designer through mentorship, feedback, and opportunities to present work MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Student working towards a bachelor’s degree in industrial design, Product Design, Transportation Design, or related field.

0 or greater STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS: • Proficiency in 2D sketching to convey design concepts (analog and digital) • Working knowledge in Photoshop, Illustrator or SketchbookPro • Experience with Figma • 3D modeling and rendering (Alias, Rhinoceros, Maya/Vray, Blender, Keyshot) • Awareness of current and future automotive and transportation design trends • Knowledge of manufacturing processes to ensure that conceptual designs can be built efficiently • Experience with rapid prototyping and physical modeling • Excellent 3D visualization skills • Ability to leverage VR and other virtual tools for design exploration and communication Must submit a portfolio of work as part of your application.
Pay Range: $18.00 - $37.00 The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
