Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires. Job Summary The Systems Engineer Intern role is a high-profile position that will work on the Systems Engineering Team.

This team has overall technical responsibility for developing high quality controls and software products.  This Systems Engineer Intern will be a member of a new product development (NPD) team, working on one or more projects.

They will work to help define system designs, interfaces, and architectures for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) embedded controllers, user interfaces, tools, and digital offerings.

In addition, they will help communicate technical direction to senior management and functional teams that span all engineering disciplines, as well as product management, sales, quality, supply chain, and operations.

Develop Key Competencies The Systems Engineering Intern will have the opportunity to develop and demonstrate the following key competencies: • Support teams on process discipline for new product development.

• Demonstrate knowledge of Systems Engineering. • Excellent communications skills including the ability to effectively present information/status to senior management and stakeholders.

• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. • Ability to manage time and prioritize efforts under the pressure of time constraints. • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with teams in multiple locations.

• Ability to perform mental tasks such as problem solving, continuous learning, thinking rationally and exercising good judgment. Responsibilities As a Systems Engineer Intern in the Controls and Software organization, you will be given various assignments to: • Work with overall technical leadership on new product development projects.

• Participate in the product development life cycle of requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test. • Establish system architecture and perform system level design and decomposition into requirements.

• Evaluate trade-offs between possible solution approaches. • Perform system analysis and interface definition. • Perform system and performance test planning and execution.

• Lead design reviews and technical project reviews. • Participate in failure investigation and resolution. Qualifications • Pursing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering, or equivalent.

• Basic knowledge of hardware and software design principles a plus • HVAC controls and systems industry experience a plus • Communication Protocols: Experience with BACnet, Modbus, or other protocol a plus.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range: $24.30 - $33.48 Compensation Type: Hourly Incentive Eligible: No Sales Commission Eligible: No Disclaimer : We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
