What you'll do
- The Heat Pump Product Support Intern will gain hands-on experience in technical communication, refrigeration design, and applied HVAC technology while collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, and New Product Development teams to create instructional resources, support troubleshooting activities, and evaluate potential product improvements.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify common product startup challenges, troubleshooting procedures, and technical support needs.
- Develop technical training materials, including instructional manuals, presentations, videos, and online training modules to support field startup and troubleshooting activities.
- Research existing industry training materials and best practices to ensure instructional resources align with applicable technical standards and customer needs.
- Assist with the development and organization of training content for online learning platforms to improve accessibility and usability for customers and field personnel.
- Work with Product Management and Engineering teams to identify commonly failing components and evaluate potential replacement solutions.

- Current student (junior or senior status).
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Systems, HVAC Technology, Communications, or a related technical or media field.
- Strong interest in technical training, renewable energy, and/or HVAC and water heating systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Nice to have
- Completion of junior- or senior-level coursework in a relevant field.
- Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD), diagramming, or graphic design tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Visio, or Adobe Illustrator.
- Interest in technical documentation, instructional content development, or product training.
- Interest in refrigeration systems, heat pump technology, or HVAC equipment.

Scope of Position
This motivated and detail-oriented individual, as part of the Marketing and Product Management team, will be responsible for developing technical training materials and supporting product improvement initiatives that enhance customer understanding of heat pump and water heating systems. The Heat Pump Product Support Intern will gain hands-on experience in technical communication, refrigeration design, and applied HVAC technology while collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, and New Product Development teams to create instructional resources, support troubleshooting activities, and evaluate potential product improvements.
This position reports to the Product Manager. This role is onsite and is based in Fort Worth, TX.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify common product startup challenges, troubleshooting procedures, and technical support needs.
- Develop technical training materials, including instructional manuals, presentations, videos, and online training modules to support field startup and troubleshooting activities.
- Research existing industry training materials and best practices to ensure instructional resources align with applicable technical standards and customer needs.
- Assist with the development and organization of training content for online learning platforms to improve accessibility and usability for customers and field personnel.
- Work with Product Management and Engineering teams to identify commonly failing components and evaluate potential replacement solutions.
- Support product improvement initiatives by reviewing cost analysis findings, testing results, and technical recommendations.
- Develop testing plans to evaluate the functionality, reliability, and durability of selected replacement components through functional and stress testing.
- Collaborate with Engineering and New Product Development teams to gain an understanding of refrigeration design, heat pump systems, and applied HVAC/water heating technologies.
- Assist with documenting technical findings, testing procedures, and product performance observations to support troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and relevant technical tools to develop training documentation, presentations, and project reports.
- Participate in internship development activities, networking opportunities, and cross-functional learning experiences.
- Summarize and present internship project outcomes, technical findings, and recommendations to leadership at the conclusion of the internship.
- Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the Training Manager, Product Manager, or Company management.
- Demonstrate integrity, accountability, continuous improvement, and transparency by maintaining accurate technical documentation, following established safety and testing procedures, identifying opportunities for product improvements, and effectively communicating project findings.

- Ability to participate in hands-on demonstrations and technical activities under supervision.

Working Conditions
While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at the Fort Worth, TX location in both an office and manufacturing environment. You may, at times, be required to be present on the manufacturing floor and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.
Physical Requirements: Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to:

- Ability to physically move around the office, organize or transport files, packages, or other office-related materials.

Pay Range: $22-26
The expected hourly range for this position is $22–$26 hourly. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable law.
