What you'll own
- To assist the Reference Data Operations team with daily operational functions including:
- Support investment teams with security setup and maintenance across equities, fixed income and derivatives.
- Coordinate with custodian banks to obtain and update cash rates.
- Analyze security documentation, including prospectuses and offering documents, to assess portfolio eligibility.
Requirements and eligibility
- Liaise with Trading, underwriters, market data vendors, and government sources to obtain required documentation on bond issuances .
- A successful candidate will have strong academic credentials and an interest in investment management, financial markets, and data-driven operations.
- Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- The ideal candidate will communicate effectively, work collaboratively with global teams, ask thoughtful questions, and take a proactive approach to learning and problem solving.
Preferred, not required
- Coursework in finance, economics, business management , data science , mathematics, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required , and exposure to SQL , Bloomberg, or python is a plus.
- Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.

THE POSITION The co-op will join the Reference Data team within Global Operations in a role that offers broad exposure across investment, operational, and client-facing processes.
This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of reference data that supports the firm’s investment, infrastructure, and client platforms.
The Reference Data team plays a highly critical role in supporting investment activity, operational integrity, and client servicing across the organization by delivering trusted data relied upon throughout the firm.
In this role, the analyst will partner with internal stakeholders and external data vendors, perform essential data operations, and help drive continuous improvement in data quality, controls, and scalable processes that support the investment lifecycle.
This is a strong opportunity for someone who is intellectually curious, collaborative, and motivated to build deep expertise in a function that is foundational to the firm’s success.
RESPONSIBILITIES To assist the Reference Data Operations team with daily operational functions including: • Support investment teams with security setup and maintenance across equities, fixed income and derivatives.
• Coordinate with custodian banks to obtain and update cash rates. • Liaise with Trading, underwriters, market data vendors, and government sources to obtain required documentation on bond issuances .
• Analyze security documentation, including prospectuses and offering documents, to assess portfolio eligibility. • Leverage market data vendors and rating agencies, including Bloomberg, Markit, and major ratings providers to analyze and validate data changes • Provide timely , accurate , and thorough support for routine and complex inquiries.
• Assist in developing controls to strengthen daily operational processes. • Support special projects as directed by management. QUALIFICATIONS A successful candidate will have strong academic credentials and an interest in investment management, financial markets, and data-driven operations.
Coursework in finance, economics, business management , data science , mathematics, computer science, or a related field is preferred. Prior internship, co-op, or project experience in financial services, data analysis, operations, or research is helpful but not required . Please note: This co-op position entails cross-training to ensure optimal performance across functions.
The anticipated start date for accepted candidates is December 2026/January 2027. Only Northeastern University students are eligible for this program.

The base salary range for this position is: $19-$35 per hour This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education.
