What you'll do

  • The Brand Marketing Intern will provide assistance to the Marketing Department with various recurring tasks as well as special projects.
  • Support event marketing, brand asset and logo governance, public relations writing, and other brand marketing coordination.
  • Assist with event planning and execution, including logistics, materials, vendor coordination, and post-event activities.
  • Support the management and governance of brand assets, logos, messaging, and related requests to help maintain brand consistency.
  • Draft and edit public relations and corporate communications materials with a focus on accuracy, professionalism, and brand standards.
  • Coordinate appropriately scoped marketing requests from intake through execution while managing deadlines and dependencies.

Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). Position Summary

The Brand Marketing Intern will provide assistance to the Marketing Department with various recurring tasks as well as special projects.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Support event marketing, brand asset and logo governance, public relations writing, and other brand marketing coordination.
  • Assist with event planning and execution, including logistics, materials, vendor coordination, and post-event activities.
  • Support the management and governance of brand assets, logos, messaging, and related requests to help maintain brand consistency.
  • Draft and edit public relations and corporate communications materials with a focus on accuracy, professionalism, and brand standards.
  • Coordinate appropriately scoped marketing requests from intake through execution while managing deadlines and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with employees, vendors, community organizations, and other departments in support of brand and event initiatives.
  • Apply sound judgment regarding when work can be handled independently and when additional review or approval is needed.
  • Gain exposure to how brand and creative work operates within a regulated industry, including Compliance, Legal, reputation, and public-company considerations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).

Position Qualifications

Education/experience

  • The internship will run for Summer of 2027 beginning mid-May and ending early August.
  • Able to work a 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Must reside local to Effingham, IL and report to the Effingham office.
  • Enrolled in a degree program with courses of study including public relations, communications, marketing, journalism, business, or a related field at a college or university with at least 2 years completed.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms is helpful but not required.
  • Interest in brand management, event marketing, and corporate communications.
  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information appropriately.
  • Good judgment and willingness to learn when independent action is appropriate and when additional review or approval is necessary.
  • Ability to receive feedback and adjust quickly.
  • Personable and comfortable communicating with employees, vendors, and community partners.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of assignments and follow through.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.

  • Very strong writing, grammatical editing, and verbal communication skills.
