Job description

Internship details

·       Schedule:  Monday – Friday; Approximately 8 hours per day/40 hours per week

·       Pay:  $19.00/hour

About the role

As a Production Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Manufacturing Operations Support: Assist production teams in monitoring daily manufacturing activities to ensure safety, quality, and productivity objectives are met.
  • Continuous Improvement Projects: Support initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving efficiencies, and optimizing production processes.
  • Performance Monitoring: Collect and analyze operational data to identify trends, improvement opportunities, and process bottlenecks.
  • Standard Work Development: Assist in creating and updating work instructions, process documentation, and visual management tools.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with maintenance, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to support operational goals.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in both office and manufacturing plant environments.
  • Frequent exposure to production areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, moving machinery, forklifts, and other industrial conditions.
  • Must follow all safety requirements and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout manufacturing facilities.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated platforms as necessary.
  • Must be able to occasionally bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and work around equipment during project activities.
  • Frequent use of computers and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Periodic travel may be required to other MSI Express locations and end-of-internship events.
