About the role
As an Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Project Startup & Optimization: Assist in the startup, validation, and optimization of manufacturing lines, focusing on improving efficiency, throughput, and overall equipment performance.
- Process Improvement Initiatives: Support continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing waste, enhancing productivity, and improving operational effectiveness.
- Technical Documentation Development: Assist in developing and updating work instructions, centerline documents, standard operating procedures, and process improvement plans.
- Performance Analysis & Reporting: Monitor and analyze production throughput, equipment performance, and operational efficiency to identify improvement opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, operations, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to support manufacturing and capital improvement projects.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in both office and manufacturing plant environments.
- Frequent exposure to production areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, moving machinery, forklifts, and other industrial conditions.
- Must follow all safety requirements and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout manufacturing facilities.
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated platforms as necessary.
- Must be able to occasionally bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and work around equipment during project activities.
- Frequent use of computers and standard office equipment.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Periodic travel may be required to other MSI Express locations and end-of-internship events.
