Job Description Summer 2027 Internship Duration: Monday, May 17th- August 20th, 2027 Location: Chaska, MN What You Can Expect: • Meaningful Project Work : Every Intern is assigned a project that delivers value to the business.
• Lean Thinking: Interns are expected to apply Lean principles and continuous improvement thinking throughout their project work; Lean training and resources will be provided.
• Our Goal is to provide interns with meaningful, hands-on experiences that contribute to business objectives while supporting their professional development Decision Analysis and AI Intern: Design, build, and deploy AI-assisted tools that help engineers make better decisions.
Apply systems thinking, data analysis, and prompt engineering to improve design reviews, capture engineering knowledge, and standardize best practices.
Measure results, train users, and continuously refine solutions based on feedback and observed outcomes. Detailed: Support the design engineering team by developing AI-assisted tools, prompts, and workflows that improve design reviews, knowledge sharing, and decision quality.
Connect engineering data, domain expertise, and systems thinking to create practical solutions that help teams work more consistently and effectively.
Develop and deploy bots, widgets, and guided review tools; evaluate their effectiveness using data-driven methods; and provide training and documentation to encourage adoption.
Work closely with engineers to capture best practices, translate them into repeatable processes, and continuously improve the engineering knowledge ecosystem.
Typical responsibilities • Develop AI-assisted prompts, agents, and review tools for engineering workflows. • Analyze engineering process data to identify opportunities for improved quality, consistency, and efficiency.
• Help structure and organize engineering knowledge, lessons learned, and design guidance. • Help the organization make infrastructure decisions for data, access, portability, and nimbleness • Create dashboards, metrics, and feedback mechanisms to measure tool effectiveness.
• Deliver training, documentation, and user support for deployed solutions. • Collaborate with engineers, data specialists, and process owners to pilot and refine new capabilities.
Education/Experience Requirements: • Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field. • Interest in AI, engineering processes, knowledge management, and human-centered tool development.
• Able to combine analytical thinking with practical implementation. • Comfortable learning new technologies and working directly with end users. Salary Ranges $30.
35 - $40.60 Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, relevant education, certifications, and/or training.
