AltaGas - 2027 Commercial Optimization Co-op Student

Job Description Number of Positions Available: 2 Dates: January - August (1) and May - December (1) Duration: 8 Months About the Role As a Commercial Optimization Co-op Student, you’ll support day-to-day decisions and long-term strategy across AltaGas’ Midstream platform.

Working with all other front-office teams, Commercial Optimization focuses on creating value through collaboration, partnership, and rigorous analysis.

This role is ideal for students who enjoy solving complex problems, working in a dynamic environment, and applying their skills to real-world business challenges.

What You’ll Do • Support large-scale modelling efforts for AltaGas’ LPG Exports, Supply, and Marketing businesses • Prepare, analyze, and distribute various daily, weekly, and monthly reports • Contribute to building new analytical methods and associated processes • Assist other front-office & planning teams as necessary What You’ll Bring: • Currently enrolled in your 2nd or 3rd year of an undergraduate degree in Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, Finance or a related field • Strong analytical and modelling skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel • A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on efficiency, practical problem-solving, and delivering effective solutions • A strong desire to learn, with the confidence to ask thoughtful questions and build a deeper understanding of the business What You’ll Gain: • Direct exposure to the LPG commercial & front-office decision making process • Insight into how academic knowledge and classroom learning apply in a corporate business environment • Mentorship from experienced commercial professionals and networking opportunities • In addition to their day-to-day role, co-op students participate in professional development sessions, networking events, executive speaker opportunities, and a capstone project designed to enhance their overall learning experience #LI-INTERNS For Canadian hires : AltaGas hires personnel on the basis of job-related qualifications.
