Applying takes a click. Getting read takes proof.

Recruiters skim more applications than they can finish, so the ones that move are the ones with real work behind them. Bring what you know: a past project, your GitHub, your LinkedIn, your courses. UTern verifies it once, and the firm comes to you.

Passive recruiting posts a seat and waits. Active recruiting comes to you.

A firm posts, you apply along with 244 other people, and a form decides. On UTern the firm comes looking for the students who fit. You never apply.

38,685live internships in the feed, and the marked ones are recruiting activelyEvery posting is real, with the pay beside the dates. The ones carrying the bird are seats a firm is filling through UTern.

Bring what you know. UTern verifies it once.

A past project, your GitHub, your LinkedIn, your courses. Each one on your record, labeled verified or claimed, and it goes to every seat you say yes to.

Get found.

UTern reads your record against the firm's own rubric, with no name, photo or school rank on it. The firm interviews five. You were one of them before you knew the seat existed.

No factor but the work.

We never see race, gender, age or photo. Your school is an eligibility check, never a rank. Firms see your record with your consent, one seat at a time.

FAQ

Before you start looking.

What is active recruiting?

Passive recruiting is a firm posting a seat and waiting for applications. Active recruiting is the firm going to the students who fit. On UTern the firm does the going, through us: UTern finds the students whose record fits the seat, scores each record against the firm's rubric with no name, photo or school rank on it, and the firm interviews five. You never apply.

Do I still have to apply?

Not on UTern. You bring your LinkedIn once, short checks on UTern test what it claims, and that record is what reaches the firm. The feed still lists every internship we know about, and the ones without the bird open on the employer's own site in one tap if you want them.

When should I apply for summer internships?

Earlier than most students expect. Many large programs open in August and September for the following summer, and finance and consulting often recruit a full year ahead. Smaller companies post much later, through the spring. That is the reason UTern watches postings continuously and tells you when a seat that fits you opens, rather than leaving you to check job boards on a schedule.

Can I get an internship with no experience?

Yes, and it is the normal case. Coursework, projects, student organizations, volunteering, and other completed work can show what you know. Your record on UTern is built from that, checked, and never invented.

Are internships paid?

Many are, and UTern shows the pay beside the dates on every posting when the employer states it. Unpaid internships are legal in the United States only under specific conditions. You can set a pay target and see how each role compares, so an unpaid posting is a decision you make rather than one you discover late.

What does UTern cost?

Students are free. A firm's first recruitment cycle is free too; after that, firms pay per seat they ask us to fill.

What is UTern?

UTern is an agentic internship hunter: one agent for students and the firms that hire them. A student brings their LinkedIn once; the record carries real projects, coursework and what they want next, each line labeled checked on UTern or claimed. A firm hands UTern one seat; the agent finds the students who fit, scores every record blind against the rubric, and with the student's consent the firm interviews five.
